What is Runnel?
Runnel is crew-staffing and production-paperwork software for film, video, and photo teams. It runs pre-production end to end: source and book crew, e-sign deal memos and NDAs, collect W-9s and payment details, and publish call sheets — one connected flow from first booking to final wrap. Runnel is a SOUN product.
Who is Runnel for?

How does Runnel work?

Do my crew need to create an account?
No. Your crew never sign up or log in. They open an expiring secure link, review the document, type their legal name, and agree. Signing, W-9s, payment, and the creative brief all happen over links — no app, no password.
Can crew sign deal memos and NDAs online?
Yes. Booking a crew member auto-sends the deal memo and NDA to e-sign. Every signature lands in a tamper-evident audit trail with a Certificate of Completion, recording the signer’s name, timestamp, and IP.
Can I send an NDA before booking someone?
Yes. You can send an NDA on its own during consideration — before you commit to booking — so you can share confidential scripts or creative. If it’s already signed, the later deal-memo packet leaves the NDA out so nobody signs it twice.
How does Runnel collect W-9s and payment information?
Send the W-9 and payment link from a booked crew member’s Payroll tab. They complete an IRS Form W-9 behind a one-time email code, then submit payment details — all over one encrypted link, no spreadsheets or email threads.
How is sensitive data like W-9s and bank details protected?
SSN/TIN, bank details, W-9s, and receipts are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM), handled server-side only, never exposed in URLs, admin-only to download, and purged after delivery. An immutable signature record survives the purge as legal evidence.
Can I build and send a call sheet in Runnel?
Yes. Your booked crew, call times, location, and nearest hospital populate a call sheet for each shoot day. Export a PDF or push it to Google Drive — it goes to everyone at once, from the same data you staffed with.
Does Runnel connect to Google Drive?
Yes. Signed deal-memo and NDA bundles and wrap documents are delivered to Google Drive, named and filed into per-person folders on completion.
Does Runnel do budgeting or payroll?
No — Runnel is not a budgeting or payroll tool, and it doesn’t try to be. Instead it exports a crew cost report (CSV) — department, role, rate, days, and gross for every booked crew member, per project or across your whole workspace — that drops straight into the budgeting or accounting tool you already use (Saturation, QuickBooks, Movie Magic, or a spreadsheet). Runnel staffs and papers the shoot; it feeds the tool that budgets it.
